CREATIVITY STUDIOS is by intent not a traditional museum arts space. Instead, we collaborated with the MCDC Team to create a studio with a wide range of STEAM experiences, drawn from both traditional arts and “unexpected”  interdisciplinary self directed projects, tools and materials.   Visually beautiful with paint pour mosaic columns, some exhibits and stations are stand alone experiences with rotating programming.

Creativity Studios experiences include a huge glass paint wall where visitors paint vertically, cleaning with water as they work, Die cutting through both a manual and electronic die cutter, an Animation station, Upcycled 3D Art, Printmaking, a wet and messy work table for younger visitors, and capacity for sewing machine use, when facilitated. A Creator kiosk allows visitors to video  their work for future visitors to see.

The focus is process instead of product, with an emphasis on taking risks and allowing for messy experiences not viable in Spark!Lab. However, purposely we kept the artistic look and feel similar to Spark!Lab to intuitively connect that the process of the arts and invention/ engineering are similar. Creativity Studios is packed daily with visitors of all ages who welcome these diverse experiences.
