MindSplash's partnership with the new Magic City Discovery Center in Minot, North Dakota, began far before its final location broke ground. During its multi-year Capital Campaign, MindSplash worked with MCDC to develop a full master plan and development support until the museum finalized its funding in late 2020. As the new museum's building broke ground, MindSplash began its work of realizing MCDC's 12 exhibit galleries:

Magic Climber - this 37 ft super structure features a Prairie Dog crawl, Oil Derrick with Horse Head, immersive clouds highlighting views across Minot, and B52-inspired plane. This climber is filled with interactive exhibits, diverse gross motor challenges, and plenty of layered experiences to challenge climbers of all levels. In addition to safe risks, visitors learn about native North Dakota birds, how oil is pumped, how to work together collaboratively, how prairie dogs live, and more.

Smithsonian Spark!Lab and Maker Space - Spark!Lab inspires the next generation of inventors through rotating activities across topics that require creative problem solving and the invention process. In addition, MindSplash established a programmable or visitor-driven Maker Space featuring 3D printer stations, circuitry platforms, tools, and more. Design and execution included extensive signage and an inventory of over 45 ready-to-program or highlight Makers projects.
